We sang a lovely variety of Christmas Carols at the church this week. It’s so lovely to celebrate the Nativity in a traditional way.
Well done to those children who went through the audition process last week for learning an instrument. You should by now have checked the Music noticeboard to see if you were successful and to find out what time your first lesson is.
If you have any questions about payment of lesson fees, you can always check the fee due on www.schoolmoney.co.uk.
If you already play an instrument at the juniors and have sent back your consent to continue playing in September, well done and watch this space for a further letter all about how to send in your lesson fees (this will probably come to you at the beginning of September, but if tutors book early with us, we’ll get in touch with your parents/ carers before the end of term). If you aren’t carrying on (I didn’t receive a consent from your parent/ carer) then please return your instrument to school this week.
If you are hoping to audition to start playing an instrument, the deadline for consents has now passed and auditions are being arranged for the start of September. Listen out in assembly for announcements about when – and where – to go for your audition. Ensure you listen carefully to the music teacher and follow his/ her instructions to the letter. Show enthusiasm and great Broadmeadow manners!
Any questions, get in touch. Remember, I’m on play time duty on Mondays/ Tuesdays, so you can grab me then if you aren’t sure about anything!
We genuinely couldn’t feel more uplifted following a wonderful performance by the choir in a special music assembly this afternoon!
Thanks to all the parents who attended – I hope you were singing along as I was! The songs were a nice selection of cultural/ popular tunes and saw lots of heads bobbing / feet tapping as the rhythms kicked in!
Well done to the whole choir. Your confidence has grown enormously.
Parental ticket and T-shirt order forms for the Young Voices concert in January were all sent off a couple of weeks ago and we will send tickets to you (if you’ve ordered them through school) when we receive them.
This year, we’re hoping to take a school banner so that you can easily identify where we are sitting and give us a wave.
Thank you in advance for any rehearsal that you are helping your child with. The event promises to be very exciting indeed.
Today, we recorded a song in singing assembly. It was all about celebrating differences between people and the title was ‘Sing a Song in Unison’ (from Out of the Ark Music). I’ll be listening to the track when Mr Barton has finished editing it, so let’s hope we did a professional job! Hopefully, this track will be played on the radio! Watch this space.
Broadmeadow’s choir will once again be joining thousands of other school children to sing in an evening concert in January 2017. We have a bigger choir than ever this year, and from the sounds of things, rehearsals are going extremely well!
